‘Stop Hooka Bar’ Campaign

Keeping
in view of the violation of smoke free rule by Hooka Bar, Rajasthan
Coalition for Tobacco Control launched
statewide campaign to strike on these violations by organizing peace march
and giving representations
to top level policy makers. The campaign was started on the first
anniversary of enactment of
smoke free in India. A protest was organized in front of the statue of
Mahatma
Gandhi in which 1000 people participated which includes RCTC members,
students of prominent institutes, civil society members and secretaries of
all major government departments. A representation was given to the Governor
of Rajasthan Shri S.K.Singh demanding him to give directives to the
government of Rajasthan for closure of these hooka bars. All the
participants were wearing a white cap and displaying placards which contains
smoking ban slogans and demand for strict law enforcement of COTPA.
